I am a Senior Software Manager working in the AWS Cryptography organization where I work as part of the AWS Key Management Service team, leading AWS's Encryption at Rest program.I have owned TLS/SSL Certificate Management as an external AWS Product (AWS Certificate Manager) and internal Public/Private Key Infrastructure (PKI) for Amazon. In this role, I managed multiple teams of amazing software, system development, support engineers and technical program managers. I owned defining team vision, roadmap, metrics, performance management, and hiring. My teams developed frontend web experiences, customer facing API driven services, workflow systems for processing customer initiated and time based asynchronous workflows, client side libraries, and internal tooling applications used for customer support. Having full ownership from the customer through underlying data storage required understanding of a wide range of technologies and the operational and security complexities presented by such a diverse set of ownership.I am an active member in promotions, mentoring, and bar raising interviews across Amazon. I also participate as a bar raiser for AWS's outage analysis process which looks to reduce future outages and improve our ability to respond to events quickly.
