Mechanical Engineer
CurrentI have the pleasure of working on a team of highly experienced mechanical engineers and mechanical designers as well as some recent graduates and interns. As a full service architecture, interior design, and MEP firm, I have the opportunity to collaborate with all trades in real-time. Responsibilities:• Design building HVAC and plumbing systems for various healthcare building types including administrative/office, outpatient clinics, patient care, long-term care, clinical lab and other program support buildings. • Perform heating and cooling load analysis of buildings to properly select mechanical equipment for application. • Perform ventilation calculations for healthcare applications from patient care rooms to laboratory. • Perform computational fluid dynamic simulations of HVAC systems for proper design application. • Develop detailed mechanical drawings and specifications from the schematic stage to complete construction drawings utilizing AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other modeling software. • Manage project work priority pro-actively and provide program management within a multi-disciplinary project team. • Provide mechanical and plumbing engineering design and documentation on projects within Spur Design including client liaison, project design, contract documentation, and construction administration. • Take responsibility for time management of assigned jobs. Keep an accurate daily record of the time spent on each assigned job, billable and non-billable. • Assist in maintaining office systems including Revit (BIM) libraries and project management tools. • Work with the mechanical discipline lead, mechanical engineers, and mechanical design team to contribute toward the improvement of Spur Design’s methods and processes. • Support requests for assistance related to marketing, project interviews, level of effort estimates, and project proposals. • Help to mentor and develop team members, providing opportunities for growth and professional development.
