I build homes, help people buy homes, design homes, and I've made Montana my home for 17 years. Master builder: After graduating Colorado State University magna cum laude and gaining certification with the American Institute of Constructors in 1998, my professional career started with Hansen Construction, Inc., building luxury homes in Aspen, Colorado. Twenty-five years later, I've had direct construction management experience with well over $55 million in contract volume, mostly in single-family home projects. With an extensive background in both residential and commercial construction, I've served in the roles of general contractor, developer, project manager, field superintendent, foreman, photovoltaic (solar-electric) entrepreneur, in addition to journeyman carpenter/framer. On a recent $1.5M home, a business partner and I self-performed much of the vertical concrete scope in addition to all framing, windows/doors, trim carpentry/cabinet install, siding, deck-work, and wood flooring. Self-taught and proficient with AutoCAD, I'm currently developing a prefab home business concept, and to be frank, I love getting into the mix of the housing solutions that promise to have a big impact in the coming century.Real estate agent: A real estate sales agent licensee in Montana since 2016, providing sound counsel to clients is my top professional priority, whether it's regarding housing, Bozeman, construction and development, or familiarization with southwest Montana. I lean heavily on strong communication and negotiation skills. When clients return or recommend my work to others, I consider this approach validated.I also launched a passion-project as an alternative publication editor-in-chief, running The Bozeman Magpie for nearly 5 years. My work as a professional journalist included numerous national publication credits.
