Serve as Officer in Charge (OIC) and staff pharmacist at Hill AFB Satellite Pharmacy. Provide leadership and team support to a staff of twelve technicians and two pharmacists. This high performing team provides pharmacy services for 78,000 beneficiaries (including active-duty military, family members, and retirees residing in Idaho, Montana, Utah, and Wyoming). Oversee and process an average of 14,000 prescriptions monthly. 100% accuracy is constant goal for patient, diagnosis, drug, dose, quantity, and clear instructions. Monitor continuously for drug allergies, adverse events, and potential drug-drug and/or drug-food interactions. Striving through robust CPI (Continuous Process Improvement) projects to maximize patient safety issues. Consult with all health care providers to provide optimal pharmaceutical care on a timely manner. Participate in leadership meetings and monthly training days in support of team mission. Provided on call "float pharmacist" coverage for thirteen Yoke's Pharmacy locations in Eastern and Central Washington and Northern Idaho. Managed daily operations at all pharmacies. Processed an average of 100-500 retail prescriptions daily with the assistance, on average, of two technicians in a ten hour shift. Insured proper and accurate third party prescription reimbursement. Compounded specialty prescription medications. Ordered and processed daily inventory with special emphasis on control substances. Counseled patients on prescription medicines as well as OTC (over the counter products). Monitored patient drug allergies and potential drug-drug and/or drug-food interactions. Performed consistently as a top tier executive pharmaceutical representative in all but two of nearly twenty year career. Launched and promoted four new drug therapies to thousands of health care providers. Provided necessary and timely drug product information to improve the quality of life for patients with diabetes, serious infections, and mental health challenges.
