General Lab Manager of the Forsyth County Public Health Laboratory, a High Complexity Laboratory. This is a Division of the Forsyth County Public Health Department which offers Laboratory Services. This position reports to the Community Care Director. Responsible for short and long term strategic planning for clinical diagnostic lab testing. The duties of the position include: the daily oversight of all bench work and lab testing, reviewing and maintaining all procedures and policies mandated by local, State, and Federal entities. Keep lab section in the strict compliance with all regulator standards, Quality Assurance and Work Place Safety Standards (mandated by COLA/CLIA,OSHA,CDC...etc.). Onsite testing includes: Molecular, Microbiology, Serology, Hematology, and Chemistry. COVID-19 testing and water analysis testing is also done.Technical Specialist skill set include extensive experience in completing new Assay validations and LIS/EMR systems validations.Scheduling of Lab personnel, conduct all staff competence assessments, inventory, ordering, maintaining lab supplies and reagents, complete personnel reviews and competencies, completing and monitoring of all proficiency testing, input to section budget management are also duties performed. Ensure readiness for unit regulatory inspections, certifications and re certificationsI have also completed duties of Lab Director in her absence in functions such as; Senior Leadership team meetings, Epidemiology Team meetings, Clinic Operations, and committee meetings.
