I recently completed a summer internship program for the summer of 2016, as a fishing guide intern. I worked at a remote Alaskan lodge for 11 weeks performing many tasks. I helped mainly in the Lodge kitchen and living areas, assisting the head chef, cleaning the lodge/guest cabins, and helping out with whatever my boss needed me to do. I worked at a remote Alaskan lodge for 11 weeks performing many tasks. I helped mainly in the Lodge kitchen and living areas, assisting the head chef, cleaning the lodge/guest cabins, and helping out with whatever my boss needed me to do. I was also in charge of two vegetable gardens that we used for meals the whole summer. I maintained these gardens solely a majority of the time and did all the manual work for both gardens, such as watering, weeding, and cultivating. Whenever I was not at the Lodge, I was taken under the wing of my boss who taught me everything I needed to know about being a fishing guide on the river. The internship program was also academic and work incorporated. We learned about the local area around the lodge, history of Alaska, and rules/regulations of Fishing and Hunting in Alaska. Show less
