With more than a decade of specialized experience in Congressional and Federal budget, defense and appropriations experience, my role as Deputy Comptroller for Budget and Appropriations Affairs at the United States Department of Defense is about working with Congress to align more than $850 billion in investments to our nation's defense objectives. My expertise in navigating complex appropriations and DoD budgeting practices combined with a nuanced understanding of Congress, empowers our organization to meet the most pressing security and innovation challenges with informed financial governance.In my most recent tenure at the Department of Defense, I've leveraged my background in Congress, working for members of both the authorization and appropriations committees overseeing the DoD, to influence and manage appropriations that support our national security. This position builds upon my previous experience as Director of Appropriations and Senior Policy Advisor for a member of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee in the Senate, where I shaped fiscal policy and provided strategic guidance on defense, veterans, and foreign affairs. My educational background in International Relations and Global Security and experience with international stakeholders fortifies this experience in the context of an evolving international landscape that impacts our nation's national security spending.
