I am passionate about learning new skills and taking on projects that allow me to explore new topics. I enjoy looking for solutions to problems and am constantly looking for ways to improve the products I help design. I especially enjoy utilizing computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software, specifically three dimensional (3D) modeling software, to aid in designing and visualizing proposed products. I have gained experience on many modeling and drafting programs including; Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk AutoCAD, Solidworks, TurboCAD, Biesse bSolid, and Cabinet Vision. Learning and using these programs has enabled me to produce images of conceptual products and then revise and finalize projects based on feedback. Using these skills I am also able to produce assembly drawings and create programs that enable CNC operators to manufacture pieces ready to be assembled to create final assemblies. One thing that I like about the role I have as an engineer is being able to start a project from an idea and make a plan to create that idea in the real world. I also like the part of my job that allows me to teach and guide others when they have questions about how something was designed to be assembled. Additionally, I enjoy hearing feedback from assemblers about unexpected difficulties and areas that could use improvement in the future. Lastly, one of the most rewarding parts of my job is when I am able to help people create what they are envisioning.
