As an Environmental Scientist II at the Mannik and Smith Group, I have assisted in the completion of dozens of Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments as well as a handful of Tier I and II BUSTR evaluations. My other primary function involved managing the compliance of the Title V and NPDES permits at a solid waste facility in northeast Ohio. I have also conducted various other environmental and geophysical investigations including seismic refraction surveys, inclinometer studies, tree surveys, and asbestos surveys just to name a few.

Trained by the EPA to conduct the National Lakes Assessment survey in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado. Collected and preserved sediment, algal toxin, chlorophyll a, eDNA, nutrient, e. coli, benthic macro invertebrate, and dissolved gas samples while also taking depth profiles with a YSI Pro DSS. I also conducted physical habitat surveys in regards to the human influence and available fish cover.

Morgantown

Conducted research on the Shavers Fork section of the Cheat River in eastern West Virginia. We were looking at how effective the stream restoration project has been in allowing native Brook Trout access to tributaries that had been cut of by culverts. This included looking at fish assemblages throughout the river and tagging target species with a PIT tag. We also conducted habitat surveys which included water quality as well as the physical characteristics of the river.

I assisted a graduate student in his research dealing with how dams effect downstream aquatic habitat. I worked as a lab technician, looking through thousands of kick net samples and organizing the samples by site number and location while also working in the field, collecting data and samples.
