Mechanical Design Engineer
CurrentThis is a multidisciplinary role with core responsibilities in testing, prototyping, and new product development for the emergency vehicle industry. We build custom high end emergency vehicles and each has a unique set of mission requirements. My main task is producing validated mechanical designs when a customer has a specific issue they are trying to address. In the development process I work closely with my team to produce functional products that are fully tested and manufactured in house while adhering to a strict budget. Specifically I have developed automated testing equipment, temperature controlled medical cool cabinets, vehicle structural chassis members, and optimized HVAC flow designs. In this process I have personally designed and built much of our in-house testing lab. Our equipment now includes a vibration table, automated cycle testing machine, IoT thermal chamber, computerized hydraulic press, and automated DC load bank. In addition I have helped coordinate 3rd party FMVSS crash testing to certify our seatbelt and module integrity.
