At the tender age of 9, I even conquered The Oregon Trail. At thirteen, I was accused of hacking for running Disk Defragmenter on the school library PCs. But it wasn’t me who chose the tech life; it chose me.College beckoned, and I eagerly pursued my dreams as a technology professional. In my studies, I delved into NT 4.0, shell scripting, the OSI model, subnetting, and more. Surrounded by classmates twice my age—returning after dot-com bubble layoffs—I remained unfazed. There was a promise of Network Admin jobs on the other side of the academic rainbow, where you worked 20 hours but got paid for 40.Post-college, I found myself in New York, working at a small MSP. There, I witnessed the nascent stages of technologies we still use on today: SharePoint, Exchange Online, Salesforce, and VoIP. My fascination with technology persisted, mirroring the curiosity of my childhood.Why do I do what I do? For kindred spirits—the curious souls who seek better mousetraps, who believe in technology’s power to solve modern problems, and who secretly yearn for a 20-hour workweek that pays like 40.Over the past several years, I’ve immersed myself in the channel, learning from hundreds of MSPs and collaborating with dozens of systems integrators. I’ve mastered the intricacies of channel distribution and can navigate the Microsoft CSP space with my eyes closed.
