The increased demand for natural foods, supplements, cosmetics and medicines has revealed the social and environmental crises underlying supply chain sustainability. Partner with Botanical Liaisons and NSF International on the NSF Sustainability Scan for Natural Products, a foundational launchpad for corporate sustainability practices in the natural products industries.

AOAC Expert Review Panels (ERPs) are responsible for reviewing analytical methods and making recommendations for Official Method status. Volunteer role also included acting peer-reviewer for Journal of AOAC manuscripts in 2020 and 2021 relating to analysis of alcohol in food and beverage matrices.

Serve as expert committee member to support Analytical Labs Committee to provide guidance in the area of analytical methods for botanicals.

Member of committee intended to facilitate quality and supply of botanical raw materials, assure sufficient production and stable markets of botanical ingredients and protection for wild plant communities.

Serve as expert committee member to support update of Good Agricultural and Collection Practices (GACP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for cannabis products. Supported Hemp Lexicon subcommittee in development of science-based terminology for the hemp products industry.

Founding committee member for ASTM Committee D37 on Cannabis, formed to develop standards for cannabis, its products and processes. The purpose of the committee is to improve quality and safety of cannabis products through the development of voluntary consensus standards and supplementary programs on proficiency testing, training and certification.

Founding technical committee member for the USHA, a key industry effort to promote high standards, best practices and self-regulation for hemp farming, manufacturing, and product marketing.

Contracted to independently perform technical and chemical analyses of foods and beverages, and provide related testimony related to a patent dispute in U.S. federal court.

Lead consultant on advisory for Good Agricultural and Collection Practices (GACP) for cannabis raw materials and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for cannabis products. Drafted and edited GMP standard recommendations for cannabis product manufacturing.
