• Researched and wrote briefs (including responses and replies), pleadings, demand letters, research memos, etc., primarily in commercial and immigration litigation. Also helped devise litigation tactics and strategy, review discovery documents, interview clients, etc.• Successfully vacated $320 million in default judgments awarded in four related commercial suits alleging RICO violations, breach of contract, fraud, etc. After cases reopened, successfully dismissed them with prejudice, and am currently preparing responses to appeals of the dismissals filed with the Ninth Circuit.• Won $50,000 in EAJA fees (incurred in immigration litigation) from the federal government.• Successfully suppressed and terminated deportation proceedings because of constitutional violations.• Pending challenge of government agency’s interpretation and implementation of an immigration statute, and the constitutionality of the statute.

Technical Writer, first for a Top 500 design firm’s environmental and municipal divisions, and then for a Fortune 500 company specializing in environmental investigation and remediation. • Wrote and/or edited, in collaboration with environmental engineers and scientists, water and wastewater treatment plant operation and maintenance manuals, long and complex reports, assessments, studies, guides, work plans, specifications, technical and non-technical proposals, city pre-treatment ordinances, articles for professional and technical journals, and important correspondence. • Planned, coordinated, and executed the word processing, document and table formatting (including the creation of automated templates), assembly, electronic publishing, and quality checks for large technical documents often involving projects of a national scale.
