Sunnyside Paddling Club (SPC) is located minutes from downtown Toronto and promotes paddling as a positive lifestyle choice for the benefit of physical fitness, athletic achievements, life-long friendships, health, and happiness.We are proud to operate the most active dragonboat training facility in the world with over 150 teams training regularly.Located within Sunnyside Pavillion the club is conveniently situated close to public transit, beachfront cafes, restaurants and other recreational activities. Our teams enjoy access to the protected waters of the Humber Bay which stretches over 4kms from Ontario Place to the Humber River. The Western Beaches encompass four beaches, three parks, three yacht clubs and one of the best dragonboat racing courses in the world.SPC is a non-profit paddling club dedicated to the development of paddle sports; SPC primarily focuses on the discipline of dragonboat. Our staff and directors are all paddlers and coaches themselves, with deep roots in the paddling community.

This event was a huge success and was the reason the City of Toronto, in partnership with the Government of Canada and Ontario, embarked on an ambitious $23M breakwall construction project resulting in the Western Beaches Water Course (WBWC). Today, it is estimated that over 10,000 boaters enjoy the calm waters for training, racing and other events annually. This legacy course is celebrated in particular by the dragonboat community.
