About Blake Hegeman

I serve as Director of Risk Management for Organization Management Group, Inc. (OMG). As Director of Risk Management, I am responsible for identifying potential dangers and risks to OMG’s member organizations and recommending ways to eliminate or reduce the chances of them occurring. OMG makes our clients and their members more successful by delivering an exciting and valuable management experience. OMG contributes innovative ideas to grow our client’s organization and help make them become even more effective. We practice creativity, give great customer service, and provide strong executive leadership. Prior to joining OMG, I had 17 years of experience practicing real estate, corporate, regulatory, and nonprofit association law, including as General Counsel for The Long & Foster Companies, Inc. and as Deputy General Counsel for the Virginia Realtors. I advised and guided business leaders, employees, and the customers, agents, and members they served on a wide range of corporate, regulatory risk management, and general nonprofit association matters. I have always sought out and thrived working with nonprofit associations. As an attorney with KaneJeffries, LLP, I served as General Counsel to multiple associations and made association law an important part of my practice. At Virginia Realtors, I answered thousands of risk management questions from members; drafted association form contracts; annually taught over 40 real estate law sessions to Realtors statewide; wrote a popular column for VR’s magazine; and filmed legal videos sent to all 30,000 VR members.I have contributed articles and made presentations to many local, state and nationals associations. In addition, I served on the Legal Affairs Committee of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
