I have been working with the Westin Resort and Spa located in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina for the past two months now. Although my role as an intern is wrapping up shortly, I am thankful for the experiences and knowledge that I will carry with me for years to come. It was great seeing how a hotel is operated on the food and beverage side of things. I've never been exposed to such a large consumer base so it has been a great learning experience. I'm thankful for all that I have learned and I am hoping for more experiences with Marriott in the future!

Despite my relatively brief tenure, I've gained valuable insights into the operations of a QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) like Chipotle and discerned the factors contributing to their remarkable success. I am also pleased to have completed several food and beverage safety videos and certifications through Chipotle's online program.

I worked as a server assistant at Three Oak Steakhouse, an American steakhouse known for its excellence with a 4.7-star rating on Google Reviews. During my time here, I developed a strong passion for the service industry and gained a deep understanding of restaurant operations through conversations with the owner and manager. In my role as a server assistant, I honed my ability to interact with customers in a professional and organized manner, especially during peak hours. I maintained effective communication with both front-of-house and back-of-house staff, enhancing my problem-solving skills for customer and coworker interactions. Additionally, I contributed to the weekly scheduling process using Excel for my boss. My ten months at Three Oak Steakhouse significantly enriched my work experience and expanded my perspective on my future career path.
