I have been working for Constellation (formerly Exelon Generation) in the nuclear industry since April of 2016. I was an equipment operator at the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Generating Station in Oswego, NY for 5 years. There I was tagout qualified, revised procedures, performed a myriad of tasks in the plant, was on the fire brigade, was qualified fire brigade leader, and assisted with 6 refueling outages. Since April of 2021, I have been working as a reactor engineer and the site Special Nuclear Material Custodian at the Clinton Power Station in Clinton, IL. I now maintain active reactor engineer qualifications at both the Clinton Power Station and LaSalle County Generating Station.

Undergraduate Research AssistantRensselaer Polytechnic Institute Feb 2013 - May 2015Troy, Ny, UsAssisting in the development of a novel solid state neutron detection. I have developed software to recognize neutron capture coincidence in order to detect fission events and used MCNP to determine optimal array geometries for fabrication and testing. Furthermore, I helped design an array and write software for directional neutron detection using these semiconductor neutron detectors. While experimenting with this directional detection array, we also realized that we could gather some spectroscopic data from these detectors by analyzing the normalized count rates relative to the position of the detectors. Since graduation, I have been assisting in this project from home. We published our findings in Nuclear Instrumentation and Methods in Physics Research, Section A and The MANE Student Research and Design Journal. -
