I also analyse situations quickly and determine the proper treatment for patients based on their conditions and/or injuries. In addition, it is my responsibility to complete patient care records and other reports as necessary and with a high level of care and accuracy. On top of this, I make sure that I always act in line with professional conduct and performance, regularly conducting checks on first aid operational readiness and equipment care on site. I manage and maintain the site’s medical centre whilst performing stock orders and scheduling drug audits regularly. I also assist with OHS duties whilst the superintendent is not on site, promoting company safety culture. Part of my role involves operating the fire tender and related equipment, as well as safeguarding property during fire emergencies. This falls hand in hand with the responsibility of ensuring all fire extinguishers are properly hanged, expiry monitored, safety pins are fixed and seals are not broken, as well as ensuring proper functioning of fire hydrants and maintaining availability of emergency water supplies. Aside from this, I assume responsibility for the reporting of incidents and assisting with investigations, restricting access to incident scenes and surrounding areas, as well as taking necessary action to minimise any threat to health and safety.
