As Applications Lead at Layer, I was responsible for the design, architecture and development of the native mobile SDKs for our messaging platform. My initial focus was on the design of the developer experience and the shared architecture of the iOS and Android SDKs. This was a player / coach role where my time was split between in the trenches engineering work and management of the iOS, Android, and Javascript engineers. I came to TripAdvisor by way of the acquisition of GateGuru in June 2013. During my short tenure at TripAdvisor, I worked on a number of impactful projects across the mobile product line:* Did principal development of TripAdvisor Flights for iOS* Rearchitected the build process for TripAdvisor iOS to support multi-team collaboration with a train release model using CocoaPods as the integration technology.* Overhauled the analytics infrastructure on iOS to support internal reporting to Hive and external reporting to Google Analytics.* Developed extensive automation infrastructure to support the development of TA's mobile apps

GateGuru was an early mobile application in the travel space focused on building a comprehensive companion application for the business traveler. Functionality included an expansive international amenities directory, flight tracking, itinerary management, and in-app car rental via a partnership with Avis. As VP of Engineering, I lead product development efforts for the GateGuru mobile apps (iOS and Android), our backend web applications and services, site operations and directly managed the engineering team.GateGuru was acquired by TripAdvisor in June 2013.

Two Toasters was a leading mobile product agency where I served as a full partner and head of engineering. We entered the mobile applications space very early and organically grew the business to 30+ employees. Our clients included Google, Airbnb, Dick's Sporting Goods, Regal Cinemas, and many more.Subsequent to my leaving the firm it was acquired by Ticketmaster in April, 2015.
