Own and operate a disaster restoration company

I managed fulfillment at Visible's Salt Lake City distribution center. Our warehouse fulfills thousands of orders daily and frequently takes on kitting assembly projects for our clients. I oversee all fulfillment operations in the warehouse including order fulfillment, inventory, production, receiving, security and facilities. I have overseen several major projects since starting with the company. One such project includes managing the move from an old warehouse to a new one, and planning all of the movement of inventory in such a way that we didn't have to shut down our operations during the transition. Another project I oversaw was cleaning up after an earthquake. The epicenter of the Magna, UT 5.7 earthquake in March 2020 was 3 miles away from our warehouse, and caused some significant damage. We had half of our operations resumed within 48 hours of the earthquake, and were fully operational within 4 days. We accomplished this without sustaining any injuries in the process.With Covid19 hitting in early 2020, this impacted our operations fairly substantially as some of our clients are heavily involved in emergency preparedness. We had to navigate through a significant increase in order volume and the kitting assembly volume that preceded that. We came up with several innovative solutions to manage through this large increase, and did so while maintaining a clean and safe working environment for our workers.

Manage non-locomotive fueling (hostler trucks, cranes, tractors, etc) across the entire network, accounting for over $45 million of fuel spent each year. Seek out new vendors that better support the needs of the mobile railroad construction gangs and provide an economic benefit to the company; maintain the FuelFinder database that directs the construction gangs to preferred vendors. While non-locomotive fuel accounts for a small percentage of overall fueling at BNSF, it is a high-maintenance and extremely varied portion that requires unique solutions to different fueling locations and fueling equipment.

Provided operational support for Intermodal (Hyundai, Maersk, MOL), Automotive (Toyota, Ford, Honda), and Agricultural carload customers (CHS, ADM, General Mills). Identified areas of recurring transit issues and worked across departments and teams to implement changes and new solutions that reduced dwell times for our customers. Piloted Salesforce, our new CRM tool at BNSF, providing critical feedback before rollout. Initiated several post-rollout process changes and IT improvements to make the gathered data more accurate and relevant.

Developed a groundwork understanding of the BNSF network through hands-on training, job shadowing,and trips to several Chicago railroad hubs and customers. Managed a portfolio of small Dry Motor Carriers and worked with them to resolve concerns and issues during a time of difficult weather and service.

Developed warehouse management skills (at the time, 3PL, 100 customer, 10,000 sku's). Analyzed data for two of the largest customers, Zagg (Apple accessories) and Doterra, and designed an optimal capacity and layout given the supply and demand. Eliminated 2000 labor hrs/yr for Doterra and doubled order capacity for Zagg by consolidating and maximizing space.

Led crews in the safe and efficient servicing of vehicles. Consistently a top-performer and team leader. Pursued additional responsibilities and initiated changes to the movement and storage of inventory, substantially reducing dock-to-stock labor.
