As a postdoctoral research fellow in Epidemiology at The George Institute for Global Health, University of Oxford, I conducted research that sought to quantify the impact of modifiable risk factors for non-communicable diseases, with a focus on how these risks may vary within and between populations. This research was supervised by Prof Mark Woodward, and resulted in first-author publications in the Journal of the American Heart Association (JAHA) and Circulation.

Global Burden of Disease (GBD) Study:• Modeled covariates at the national and sub-national level to be used at various stages of the GBD analytical process, with a focus on non-communicable diseases• Contributed to systematic analyses of the global prevalence of tobacco smoking, published in JAMA, and the global prevalence of overweight and obesity, published in The LancetMedtronic Philanthropy HealthRise and HeartRescue Initiatives:• Led quantitative analyses for baseline needs assessments using household and facility surveys in communities in India, China, the U.S. and South Africa• Identified key opportunities for interventions to reduce prevalence of non-communicable diseases at the community level, disseminating findings in reports, published abstracts, and academic manuscripts• Carried out systematic reviews to synthesize evidence around non-communicable diseases in low- and middle-income countries

• Created and standardized dataset spanning 14 years of hospital discharge data to be used to analyze obstetric complications in Mexico City• Designed and led 2 workshops on use of the programming language R for senior researchers and PhD students, covering basic usage through advanced visualization techniques
