For the past few years, Blake has worked with a number of early and growth-stage startups in executive leadership roles helping to grow and scale their product development efforts and company operations. Prior to this, Blake was the VP of Product & Engineering for Techstars, a mentorship-driven global startup ecosystem that helps founders bring new technologies to market. Blake was also a Managing Director at Techstars focused on cloud technologies. Before joining Techstars, Blake was the Director of Next Generation Markets for Rackspace. He led the team developing ZeroVM, an open-source virtualization technology after Rackspace acquired LiteStack, the company that created ZeroVM, where he was the Chief Operating Officer.Prior to ZeroVM, Blake spent time helping to build HP's Public Cloud working as the Director of Product Management for HP Cloud Services. Blake's team was responsible for the development and launch of a portfolio of IaaS products based on OpenStack, an open-source cloud management platform.Blake previously worked as the Product Line Leader for Cloud Compute at Rackspace. He led several teams, including the product management, program management, and quality assurance teams, and was part of the team that initially launched the OpenStack project. Blake also worked as the VP of R&D for Gandi Innovations a startup that manufactured grand-format digital inkjet printers.In addition, Blake has served on several non-profit and for-profit company boards. He is a mentor for multiple Techstars Accelerator Programs and an advisor to several early-stage companies. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Computer Engineering and graduated from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas.
