Brenda Almaraz Email and Phone Number
I'm a passionate advocate for immigrant rights with a track record of managing programs and projects within nonprofit administration. Over the years, I've assisted in government and foundation grant applications, coordinated impactful events like Citizenship Drives and fundraisers. As an Executive/Special Assistant at Coalition for Immigrant Freedom (NMCIR), I developed my skills in fundraising and donor management. In this position, I assisted in the development of NMCIR’s first sit-down gala which raised more than $200,000.My diverse experiences at John Jay College, both academically and professionally, have honed my organizational and logistical abilities. Additionally, I have a creative side, showcased in my involvement as the Graphic Design Manager and Writer for an online journal and my contributions to digital publications. A proud John Jay College Honors Program Scholar, I've also had the privilege of studying across Latin America, enriching my understanding of diverse cultures and communities.I have a great love for the Latino community and our immigrant community. Being on the ground during this trying time has made me realize that regardless of the path I choose, I know for certain that I want to help others to avoid mass human rights violations, especially with our most marginalized members.
