• Schedules all elective and emergency surgical/anesthesia procedures• Verifies all patient charges for Surgery, PACU, and SSU• Complete charge reconciliation and charge rejections for Surgery, PACU, and SSU departments• Complete patient flow to and from surgery with other departments, maintaining scheduling system to meet changing surgeon/department needs• Coordinates OR schedule to meet surgeon needs and OR availability; informing surgeon of last minute changes in schedule• Communicates with team members when adding trauma and emergency cases to the OR schedule; makes changes in a timely manner with physicians, nursing care units, and departments who are impacted by these additions. Diffuses tense situations when conflict occurs• Integrates with other departments and physician offices to meet customer needs related to procedure scheduling
