Planned, designed, procured, tested and commissioned Physical IT infrastructure for GMCabs hosted at RIS’s production data centre (Fujitsu) and the implementation of a disaster recovery (DR) site at RIS’s data centre (Equinix) – DR capable of being invoked within 4 hrs of a disaster being declared IT Lead in the Negotiation of a 10 yr RIS/Medicare government contract and led the planning, design, procurement, testing and commissioning of IT infrastructure and the implementation and compliance of the Defence Signals Directorate’s Information Security Registered Assessor Program (IRAP) certification as a requirement of the contractual agreement – (Medicare EasyClaim is a payment solution to facilitate real-time electronic patient claiming between medical practices and Medicare) Certified EFTPOS terminal software with STG, Westpac and CBA Mumbai, India - Planned, designed, procured, tested and commissioned IT infrastructure in the Reliance data centre capable of processing 100,000 transactions per day. This solution was implemented in a high availability (HA) configuration utilizing Juniper, Checkpoint and Cisco network equipment and HP blade sever technology. This project also included Payment Card Industry – Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) compliance and the implementation of a Disaster Recovery (DR) solution capable of being invoked within 4 hrs of a disaster being declared -

By 2008 Rhodes Data Centre had a total of 160 servers that were configured in a high availability (HA) or clustered configuration, providing editorial, finance, media, image & racing services to national & international clients 24/7 All systems/services were replicated real time to AAP’s Disaster Recovery site at Redfern. Managed a Team of 20 technical staff comprising of System and Database Administrators, Computer Operators and Helpdesk staff 24x7. Led the Computer Services departments operational planning and projects and negotiated and organised the allocation and efficient utilisation of Computer Services resources Directed the selection, installation, use and maintenance of Computer Services systems and equipment Established, maintained & reviewed vendor relationships, SLA’s and software/hardware maintenance contracts Ensured adherence to input and output delivery times and advised the company executives of any adjustments constantly evaluated new technology, reviewed new hardware/software to make needed recommendations and liaised with equipment suppliers, engineers and developers as necessary Selected and trained permanent and contract operation staff and continually monitored their performance.
