• Operational manager for raw material strategies and purchasing. Developed and implemented a data driven process to monitor wool market prices and contract fiber three to five years forward. This process required forecasting volume requirements, setting cost targets and understanding product innovation needs. The process and its results were presented to and approved by the executive team twice a year. • Directed the sock yarn supply chain operations including yarn development, specification writing, vendor selection, seasonal cost strategies and negotiations, production planning, vendor service levels and quality testing.• Provided financial analysis to the CFO that tracked and modeled total product cost impacts and cost variances from season to season. Reported on financial results and estimated impacts of wool contract and processing cost changes.• Created a 5-year plan for the raw material supply chain documenting the capabilities and strategy to meet the brand’s business plans and goals.• Researched, evaluated and selected new vendors and raw material source base.• Managed the Raw Material Coordinator role and the raw material foreign currency exchange process.• Conceptualized and managed multiple cross-departmental projects designed to improve operational efficiencies, product cost and product performance and environmental impacts. Included budget creation and management, forecasting ROI and savings documentation. • Developed and managed the Operational sustainability aspect of the Smartwool brand. Initiatives included strategy development and goal setting for animal welfare guidelines and sustainability credentials adoption (ZQ/RWS, Higg, bluesign, etc), LCA completion, consumer messaging and representing Smartwool on the VF Sustainability Council and industry collaboration teams (OIA, Textile Exchange). Co-lead of the Smartwool Office Sustainability Team.

• Modeled historical and future wool fiber requirements and presented forward volume and cost recommendations to leadership. • Worked with yarn vendors to track and project supply and demand for fiber and yarn. Modeled cost structures with a focus on transparency. Developed performance metrics and reported progress towards those targets.• Developed a foreign currency exchange risk mitigation strategy for raw and processed fiber. Partnered with Finance to formalize policy guidelines and implement the mechanics. Provided monthly visibility to potential scenarios and presented the necessary information to support decision making on foreign currency exchange contracts. • Sourced and purchased all retail packaging, including new vendor assessment and selection, production management and cost negotiations. • Partnered with Product Development team on yarn SKU’s and Marketing team on packaging SKU’s to establish seasonal timelines and efficiency targets. • Volunteered on the Smartchange Team which was tasked to create the most professionally satisfying workplace possible.
