Managing the IT department of the company with very much hands-on experience designing and implementing complex systems personally.Organized the IT department into three teams: IT Support, System Engineering, and Infrastructure Automation.Noteworthy achievements in this position include:- Implemented Infrastructure-as-Code practices to move from pet machines to cattle; reduced deployment time for deploying fully configured ready-to-serve nodes from days to tens of minutes using a fully automated zero-touch bare metal & VM deployment system leveraging Ansible, NetBox, PXE, ESXi/Redfish etc. 100% indigenous custom and proprietary Ansible code.- Designed and implemented Sabay next-gen storage architecture using Ceph file & object storage.- Designed and implemented migration of the network backbone and CNX PoPs to 10G/40G with Cisco Nexus. CNX http://cnx.net.kh/ is the #1 Cambodian IXP.- Design, implementation and troubleshooting of a Galera cluster replacing non-highly available databases; and other DBA tasks such as performance optimization.- Designed and implemented IPv6 for Sabay Internet service subscribers. Sabay was thus the first ISP in Cambodia to provide IPv6 for subscribers. Setup RADIUS server cluster and migrated BNG to Cisco ASR.- Designed and implemented new directory service infrastructure with two-factor authentication using PIV. Migrated from 389 Directory Server to Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services and a two-tier PKI with AD CS. Integrated with AD and PKI all the different applications requiring sign-on, leveraging Kerberos SSO where possible.- Designed and oversaw data+voice structured cabling and virtualization installation for the office.- Cut expenses and significantly improved the efficiency and reliability of electrical systems at Sabay office by improving the electrical system design.- Created comprehensive documentation.- Created standard processes for various IT functions, establishing KPIs and auditable paper trails.

Team lead of the system/operations engineering team.Responsibilities included- Administering and overseeing the administration of equipment in the data centers: rather large amount of physical and virtual servers, Cisco core/edge routers and switches.- Researching and deploying new technologies in order to increase productivity/profitability and decrease downtime/costs.- Constantly evaluating the IT processes in order to maximize value to the company.- Staff hiring, retention, evaluation etc.Top achievements in my position included- Standardization of deployment of new base-line configuration servers using rapid deployment technologies, decreasing the deployment time of a generic base Linux/Windows server from hours of tedious manual configuration labor to tens of minutes.- Rigorous update regiment, including installation of relevant tools and systems, and other successful cyber security initiatives that resulted in eliminating future incidents.- Significantly improved visibility/observability of the overall data center and systems performance, decreasing downtime & costs, enabling optimization of resources and forecasting for systems.- Created comprehensive technical and operational documentation for all IT systems in order to encourage sharing of tasks and knowledge within the whole Infrastructure Group.- Initiated and completed several operational and technical best practices initiatives.- Forensic work on problematic legacy systems.
