The Ferris-Haggarty is on the National Register of Historic Places, added July 02. 1973. Our Smithsonian No. is 48CR673. In 1903, the FHM was the 27th largest mine in the world. The care and development in maintaining the historical continuity are vital to me and affects every decision I make. I owe that to George Ferris and Ed Haggarty. Haggarty discovered the gossan apex that became the Ferris-Haggarty. Further, I owe it to the men and women who gave so much in the development of this nationally essential and important historical mining property, and the proud people of the state of Wyoming. It remains today an extremely important and rich deposit.The USGS states that the FHM is a massive sulfide copper deposit with gold, silver, cobalt, and nickel. Black Range Minerals, LTD completed (3) drill holes as part of due diligence on the FHM in 2007. Mineralisation was found in all three w/ significant intercepts at: 2.2m at 5.4% copper, 1.21g/t gold and 5.95g/t silver: additionally 0.4m at 1.72% copper, 0.11g/t gold, >10,000g/t silver and 0.16% nickel (2008 Annual Report). Their drilling & testing prove that the ore body continues to 982 feet below the lowest old workings. The mineral reserves as provided for in USGS MRDS report 10303371 denotes ore reserves at 928,500 tons (842,321 mt) of copper ore containing 116,800 ounces of gold. 928,500 tons of ore equates to 120,705,000 pounds of copper at 6.5%. Current in-ground reserves at today's market price create a valuation of: $249,255,825 copper, and $128,480,000 in gold, totaling: $377,735,825. Show less
