About Blessing Mawire

I am the Program Manager for Country Connectors at Research4Life and the World Health Organization, an initiative that strengthens the research ecosystem for 14+ countries in the global south. These span Sub Saharan Africa, Asia and Southern America. I work directly with each country to ensure optimal implementation and impact.I am also Partnerships Coordinator (part time) at the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR), where I work on the Hidden Collections Africa project, a collaborative initiative to preserve and digitize endangered cultural heritage materials in Africa. I serve as a Board Member at Africa Commons, a non-profit organization that promotes open access and open source solutions for African development.With over 15 years of experience in international development, I have led and implemented multi-country projects across Sub-Saharan Africa, focusing on project management, capacity building, knowledge management, digital inclusion, and critical appraisal of health evidence. I have a strong background in development communication, having obtained my MA in this field from the University of Pretoria. I am passionate about designing and delivering programme approaches that are tailor-made for specific communities and that have positive and sustainable impacts. I have worked with diverse global partners, including community-based organizations, research institutions, governments, and United Nations agencies.
