As a Ruby and Ruby on Rails developer at ReelMetrics I have been doing a wide range of activities, some of which:• Integrating external Identity Management solution via Openid with several Rails applications• Migrating production Rails applications in several stages from 4.x to the latest 5.x, with all features operational and all corresponding (RSpec) tests.• Coordinating and Developing DevOps solutions to operate AWS and Kubernetes (Container Orchestrator) resources• Rebuilding Rails CI pipeline and Containers• Extending Integrations to other internal data providers (API's)• Keeping a keen eye on a healthy and Secure Code base, deprecating and / or updating dependencies, removing dead code, extend testing. Because of the fast Software delivery pipeline we are now able to move quickly on CVE's, functionality and move to production in a matter of minutes, and flip of a `git flow release`.• I'm a firm believer of KISS always focusing on simplifying Ops while Maximising Dev.

This has been quite the ride, from a blank canvas in 2015 to a serious data centric startup. We number crunch data from the Electronic Gaming Industry to deliver Pan Industrial insights.This is no regular Business Intelligence job, apart from the Business Intelligence I develop in Ruby and Ruby on Rails. Build a Docker based, Mesos orchestrated, AWS supported Linux infra to accelerate Pentaho based data products and RoR frontends with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.

As a BI/ETL Specialist I develop data solutions for a range of internal and external customers. Most solutions include SQL, ETL, HTML, XML, JavaScript, some java, a LOT of Pentaho AND Linux. More recently data-mining became of bigger importance and I took a deep dive into data-mining and the weka machine learning toolkit.

The department of Radiation Oncology of the VU medical centre treats patients with cancer. Treatment is supported by a great IT infrastructure, of which a part is handled and supported by the department itself. My job constitutes of support of the system as well as the development of new functionality and / or information.

Working as a research technician on a project that investigated the possibilities of individualized treatment of patients with braintumours (Glioblastoma multiforme).
