The Bridge Darebin is a new entity formed from the merger of the former Preston Neighbourhood House and and the Thornbury Women's Neighbourhood House. It provides educational and training opportunities for people in Melbourne's north, particularly people experiencing disadvantage and newly arrived Australians.

I was elected to represent the Cazaly Ward in the City of Darebin in 2012 as a non-party aligned independent ward councillor. Since my election, I have worked with other councillors and staff to improve governance and accountability within local government. I also worked hard representing the community and played an active role in lobbying and advocacy efforts of the council. My key achievements to date include:1. Online webcasting of council and planning committee meeting to improve transparency and accountability of council decisions.2. Driving the development of the council health and wellbeing plan using a social determinant of health approach.3. Lobbying for grade separation at Bell Street to improve traffic management and enhance economic development.4. Maintain high levels of investment in bike infrastructure.5. Lobbying for appropriate development in the city.6. Initiating the annual Lunar New Year celebration at Preston Central to enhance social cohesion and community wellbeing.7. Working on committees representing people experiencing disadvantage and vulnerable groups (e.g. aged, disability, interfaith relations).

AHPA is the national peak body for allied health professions. The Board Management Group meets monthly and discuss a range of issues in relation to health care service delivery, policy, strategic planning and lobbying activities. Regular guest speakers include Government representatives and members of Parliament (and/or their representatives/advisors).

AHCRA is an alliance of consumers and providers in healthcare interested in health reform. It hosts an annual health reform summit to lobby for systemic reform of the Australian healthcare system.

Preston West Primary School is a public primary school in Preston, with over 500 enrollments and students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. The School Council meets monthly.
