St Als is an all-girls post primary school with a Catholic ethos. There are c.760 students currently enrolled, with a teaching staff of approx 60. I taught two first year Spanish classes (26) and (29) from September until the present time, as part of my PME2 placement. I was one of four Spanish teachers in the Department. My classes were mixed ability classes with AEN students in both. I naturally had to differentiate both up and down in my lessons and in my units of learning so that all students would be challenged and reach their potentials. Before Covid19 I had been using Google Classroom to give out homework and to upload and share my classroom Powerpoints. After Covid19 Google Classroom was how I communicated with my students. I set up folders for them on Google Drive to get them used to the system for CBAs the following year. I also then started using Loom as a means of communicating with the students particularly for navigating our way through new content and if I wanted to discuss a common mistake that was appearing in the homework assignments. I also taught CSPE to two first year groups and one second year group for the year. I learned a lot in my three CSPE classes about letting go and allowing the students to work in groups.

Colaiste Muire is a mixed post primary school with a Catholic ethos under the trusteeship of the Presentation Brothers Schools Trust. There are c. 650 students enrolled and a teaching staff of c.50. I spent my first year PME placement teaching a TY Spanish class four times a week. They were a mixed ability group, who for my first year out were a challenging group to teach and to motivate. I learned a lot about myself and teaching that first year. I used a lot of mind maps and authentic texts to try and reinforce prior knowledge and to get them interested and involved in what I was teaching them. If I was to approach that year again, I would do it completely different to what I did. I also taught two first year CSPE classes during that year, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was such a different experience teaching CSPE compared to teaching a language.

Personal Assistant/Editorial/Production/Picture Desk• Worked as the Personal Assistant to the Chief Executive, responsible for his and all his management committee’s travel arrangements, administrative duties and assisting in preparing presentations for the CEO and Group Managing Director.• Assisted the HR, marketing, editorial, advertising and administration/distribution departments with any necessary administration duties, including arranging interviews, social evenings, competitions run in the paper, hotel bookings and annual company events.• Responsible for all national and international travel arrangements for the staff of both Irish Examiner and Evening Echo• Four years later, I was promoted to the editorial picture desk and production departments.• This involved working with the editorial teams of both the Examiner and Echo to supply, choose and layout the pictures for both newspapers and supplements. • I was also designated as a lead trainer in the upskilling all staff when a new email system was implemented across both titles

Worked as the legal representative for PSI, liaising on a daily basis with the property consultants for whom PSI provided all legal services. Met with representative from the estate agent to resolve any queries as they arose and to highlight concerns of clients.Responsible for meeting, on average, 8 parties per day who were interested in purchasing property in Spain. Processed all appropriate legal documentation on their behalf.Explained to our clients both the services of the firm and the legal system in Spain in relation to conveyance.Finalised and translated from Spanish to English all relevant legal documents such as Powers of Attorney, Wills and Title Deeds with clients at the offices of the Notary.Made all the necessary changes re utility contracts, including council tax and community fees once the property purchase or sale was completed.Advised clients in relation to appropriate taxes to be paid in Spain as property owners.

Primarily worked as a translator between the solicitors and English speaking clients providing extemporaneous translation and also translated written legal documents.Initially recruited as PA but was subsequently trusted with the responsibility of meeting all English speaking clients to explain all conveyance requirements under the Spanish legal system.Accompanied clients to Notary, translated and finalised Title Deeds, Wills, Powers of Attorney and company documents.Was solely in charge of after-sales with clients and resolved any issues in relation to the completion of the sale of the property.Paid relevant taxes in relation to purchase and sale of properties.Transferred into client’s name all relevant utility contracts.

Reported directly to the assistant manager of Avis Ireland and worked on a daily basis with Avis airport and rental location managers and personnel, car transport companies and repair centres.Organised the movement of vehicles around the country to the different rental locations to facilitate bookings ensuring customer requirements were always met. Responsible for the introduction of an enhanced management system providing improved control of the fleet.Established and maintained successful working relationships with the many car suppliers.Responsible for the registration and taxing of all vehicles coming onto the fleet annually.Worked as part of a team to resolve problems ensuring a positive outcome for all involved parties.
