My career has been about organizing and accomplishing—cargo in Antarctica, wine in Vermont; scientific logistics and sensor installation all over the United States and Antarctica, as well as people, projects and planes in the Brooks Range of Alaska. I’ve helped build, maintain and troubleshoot. Logistics has been an underlying theme, as has efficiency and productivity. I believe in identifying problems before they become such, being prepared for the unexpected and unforeseeable, as well as thinking about and planning for the future. I’ve done all this in 24-hour sunlight, in temperatures from -30 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit; in temperate and tropical rainforest, as well as canyonland desert; from sea level to 10,000-foot elevation. I am up for and to the challenge.In regard to the employment gap following my Operations Manager position, I spent the majority of 2019 living and traveling in Argentina and southern Chile, only to return to the United States months before the Covid pandemic.
