As the Executive Director of Development for Health Sciences Advancement, I am responsible for creating and implementing a strong advancement program, and leading a team focused on supporting several key departments and institutes within the Keck Medicine enterprise, and their overarching missions. These areas include: - USC Department of Neurology- USC Department of Neurological Surgery- USC Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences -USC Department of Population and Public Health Sciences- USC Department of Translational Genomics- The Zilkha Neurogenetic Institute- USC Mark and Mary Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute- Alzheimer's Therapeutic Research Institute In my role I serve as the strategist for principal and major gift development prospects, as well as institutional donors and prospects, including foundations and corporations, to meet the goals for the Keck School of Medicine. We accomplish this through direct fundraising, medical leadership and physician engagement, and volunteer and donor management. The program incorporates direct mail and major gift strategies and serves to expand the pipeline of gifts and donors to the Keck School of Medicine of USC enterprise, which includes the Keck Medical Center and the LAC+USC Medical Center and outpatient clinics throughout Southern California.My responsibilities include the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors to meet both annual giving and major giving goals that fulfill our mission – to improve the quality of life for individuals and society by promoting health, preventing and curing disease, advancing biomedical research and educating tomorrow’s physicians and scientists. I capitalize on fundraising opportunities arising from grateful patients and their families that help to enhance the image of the Keck School of Medicine of USC resulting in donor support.
