I became interested in science and started undergraduate research at Texas Tech University. My fascination with science was first shown through the Outstanding Engineering Physics Student Award in 2010. I transferred to Texas Tech University in the summer of 2010 and was soon awarded the Outstanding Performance in Organic Chemistry Award. At Texas Tech I continued research as an ambassador for the Center for Undergraduate Research and became Vice President of Howard Hughes Medical Institute (TTU/HHMI). My participation in other events has varied. Most notably was my participation as an Intern at NASA Johnson Space Center in 2011. I have also studied abroad at the University of Oxford at the college of Lady Margaret Hall and taken a faculty-led trip to New Delhi, India, and surrounding cities. I graduated with a BS in Physics with Honors designation and Magna Cum Laude in 2013. -- Scientist --Using my physics degree, I was employed by CNS Pantex as a scientist in the High Explosives Engineering and Physics Department where I performed work related to nuclear weapons. I carried an active Q security clearance with many details of my work being classified.-- Medical School & Residency --In medical school, I joined an innovative program, the first of its kind, the Family Medicine Accelerated Track (FMAT). This program provided an accelerated and challenging path to becoming a Medical Doctor. I graduated from TTUHSC School of medicine and was subsequently accepted into TTUHSC Family Medicine as a resident physician where I finished my training.
