I started my higher education career as a student employee when I was 18 years old. I thought I was destined to work in logistics and supply chain management, but the Great Recession of 2008 impacted my journey. My job offer for full-time employment was delayed and never panned out so I went back to higher education in 2009 and have never left. At first, it was a job, but now it is a passion. One of my top Clifton Strengths is belief and I have a deep belief in the work we do in higher education. It changes the trajectory of our students lives and generations to come. My first 13.5 years were spent in University Advancement in various roles. I served as a frontline fundraiser, non-traditional annual giving leader, and then transitioned to operations which included budget management, talent management, and general operations for the division. My time in Advancement was foundational for my growth as a professional. As of March 2023, I'm taking my transferable skills learned in Advancement to Enrollment Management to serve as their first Chief of Staff. I'll still be able to impact students and help start them on a journey that will change the trajectory of their lives.
