With over 24 years of experience as a writer and educator, I have a passion for English language, literature, and composition. I am an adjunct professor of English at Menlo College and Los Medanos College, where I teach writing and research skills to a diverse student population. I hold a master of fine arts in creative writing and a certificate in the teaching of English composition from San Francisco State University. I am also a self-employed writer and author of award-winning short fiction, screenplays, journalism, essays, non-fiction memoir, humor, film and book reviews, educational books and novels.I design and deliver personalized, instruction to empower students with various learning styles and needs. I use a variety of methods and materials to engage students in reading, writing, and critical thinking, and to foster their creativity and confidence. I also collaborated with other teachers and staff to support the academic and social development of students. Some of the skills I apply in this role include lecturing, editorial, developing curriculum for Canvas, new media, social networking, communication, collaboration, and mentoring.
