“Watch me build an empire from the ashes of everything that ever tried to destroy me.” - Blythe BairdUnapologetically articulating universal truths through the lens of personal experience is my writing style. My work has garnered international recognition for speaking urgently and honestly about mental illness, eating disorder recovery, surviving sexual assault, healing from trauma, and being LGBTQ+. In 2020, I was awarded a McKnight Artists Fellowship, judged by Patricia Smith and administered by The Loft Literary Center. In 2019, my collection “IF MY BODY COULD SPEAK” (Button Poetry) was an Amazon Bestseller in LGBTQ+ poetry.
