Our team handles housing cases in Oakland County, primarily representing tenants facing eviction in Oak Park, Southfield, and Pontiac. My work includes:- Conducting intakes with potential clients, screening for conflicts of interest and summarizing issues for staff attorneys- Managing and monitoring our team's cases on Lakeshores database (both Pika and Salesforce)- Assisting attorneys with prepping cases for closure and managing communications with clients- Drafting motions and assisting with filings at various courts in Oakland County

Using a responsible tourism framework focusing on mitigating social and environmental impacts in tourism, I create content promoting tourism in the American Midwest. My focus is on challenging locals to experience the diverse cultures and amenities their hometowns have to offer by playing tourist in their own backyards. I share resources and compact history lessons about the American Midwest, Rust Belt, and Great Lakes Region. In my role as tours director, I oversaw the development and execution of all tourism products at Detroit Bus Company. While my time at Detroit Bus Co. was cut short by the Covid-19 shut-down, I developed a Welcome to Detroit tour geared towards showing visitors the highlights of the city through the lens of social equity. This tour visited some of Detroit's major attractions while also dicussing the city's history of racial housing covenants, white flight, and immigration and the impact of this on the city today. The tour also focused on adaptive reuse and the city's street grid. In addition, I created a tour of historic Elmwood Cemetery that highlighted the role of black Detroiters in the city's history, the use of cemeteries as accessible green space, and the impact of immigration on the city of Detroit. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Detroit Bus Company pivoted to producing hand sanitizer. I handled all shipping activities during this time.

This hybrid role was created for me to continue working with independent travelers seeking custom itineraries while also managing supplier relationships with various destination management companies and all activity vetting for National Geographic Expeditions. In this role, I oversaw trip development and sales in the Middle East and Africa. Additionally, I handled all custom trip development requests for new or previously unbooked destinations.In my role with supplier management, I handled procurement and on-boarding process for all international partners on owned and operated programs. This involved working with our legal team to ensure that partners understood all contractual obligations and maintained the correct insurance requirements. In my role with activity vetting, I assessed all owned and operated trips for activities and created a master database of any activity our travelers may engage in. I worked with our legal team and our international partners to ensure that all experiences met standards set forth by Disney Expeditions (National Geographic merged with Disney during my time there).

This position supported the Custom Trip Development and Sales team. This team is responsible for developing and selling Custom Trips for National Geographic Expeditions. Specific responsibilities included creating trip proposals, day-by-day itineraries, and budgets as well as handing off completed trips to customer service and operations teams.

This AmeriCorp position was part of the Montana EnergyCorp program. EnergyCorp was created in partnership with the National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT) to address unmet community energy needs by promoting sustainable energy consumption and education, fostering community sustainability, and helping to mitigate the effects of global climate change. The SMART (Saving Money and Resources Today) Schools challenge encourages Montana public schools to save money and resources through recycling, energy conservation, and other green practices. Student-led groups can enter a project into the challenge that promotes recycling, energy conservation, or other green practices at their schools. Students must monitor their progress and are encouraged to be creative in how they approach green practices. As an educator, I gave presentations to students on how and why to recycle, how and why to save energy, and various green practices (upcycling, planting gardens, composting, eating local produce, etc.). This position involved scheduling and coordinating presentations all across Montana, creating and delivering tailored presentations, and following up with schools on their needs. Additionally, I planned a state-wide symposium at the capital in Helena highlighting all the accomplishments of the schools participating across the state. This position was based in Butte, but run out of Governor Steve Bullock's office in Helena.

I worked as a freelance educator for various Princeton Review SAT preparation centers. I spent the summers of 2016 and 2017 teaching summer intensive classes in Seoul, South Korea and fall of 2017 teaching SAT verbal courses in Kuwait. I specialized in the verbal section of the SAT, including critical reading, grammar and style editing, and essay writing. I was trained in The Princeton Review methods and materials and also supplemented my lessons with my own content. I worked primarily with international students hoping to attend college in the United States. This afforded me the unique chance to implement creative solutions for students in a diverse classroom.

I filled in for elementary, middle, and high school teachers as needed throughout three districts in West Michigan. This job was particularly important in my development as an educator because it exposed me to a wide variety of school districts each with their own unique issues and with a great disparity in the resources available to them. I gained experience in both traditional and special education classrooms during my time at EduStaff.

Gangwon-Do, Korea

I was an award-winning teacher in elementary schools in rural Korea. This job allowed for ample creativity in lesson planning and was focused not only on English instruction, but also on cultural exposure. I was able to supplement my student's English curriculum with original material and lessons focus on exposure to American culture. I was recognized for my creativity as a teacher both in my province and in the entire country, winning two awards for collaborative coteaching and for creativity in the classroom. I presented on creative teaching methods at two provincial conferences for Korean and foreign English teachers.
