Overall management of data across a Trust featuring 12 schools mainly in the Alternative Provision and SEND sector. The intial focus of my role at Esteem was to establish a switch to a single MIS across all schools, starting with selection through to procurement and project managing implemention, followed by trust wide data visualisation.

Development of a BIM visualisation and project management portal for Autodesk products (CAMDuct, ESTMep). A data pipeline desktop client was developed in Python, automating user data uploads. Data is sent to a LAMP stack hosted on AWS Lightsail. Data is processed (ETL) in the backend using PHP and MySQL. Front end visualisation is performed using a Bootstrap framework and chart.js.

Teaching science from KS3 to KS4, and chemistry at KS5, in an inner city Nottingham secondary school. There was particular focus on behaviour for learning and students who had English as an additional language. There was also a focus on teaching chemistry to A-Level, with strong results gained in August 2016.

Teaching science to the English National Curriculum at KS3 and KS4. Work involved helping develop schemes of work, inclusion of literacy and numeracy targets, and preparing students for examination. I have had the good fortune to teach a range of year groups, allowing for development of differentiation techniques and a input into the long term education plan.

The PGCE course enabled me to learn a variety of different aspects about the theory of learning and how to implement this in practice. This was consolidated through two different long term teaching placements at KS3 to KS5 in schools in the local area.

As part of a multi-departmental collaborative project (EPSRC reference: EP/H010432/1) I had the opportunity to research the synthesis and photochemistry of a range of organic fluorophores. Synthetic methodologies and pathways were developed for the synthesis of functionalised porphyrin and BODIPY dyes.During this time I learnt about and utilised many analytical techniques including x-ray crystallography, mass spectroscopy, NMR, EPR, UV-vis, electrochemical analysis. Part-time teaching of AS and A2 level chemistry in an outstanding Ofsted rated (2010/11) six form college in Rutland. Teaching focused on covering the remainder of the course syllabus and preparation for exams. Students' practical work was observed and assessed, ensuring CLEAPSS guidelines were followed.
