At Central Information Technology Services, I worked with a vendor to customize a learning and curriculum management system for the Office of Medical Student Education. It was written in PHP and JavaScript (AJAX) with a MySQL database.

I own and manage two four-family apartment buildings that were built in 1906.

I created websites for a variety of clients, including Coad Engineering, political campaigns, the Arch City Chronicle and Grand Center using PHP and MySQL. I also created the STL Syndicate, a network of local blogs, using Movable Type, phpAdsNew, zFeeder and a customized RSS parsing script written in Perl.

I developed the curriculum for two web development courses and taught them at the T-REX technology incubator. The Beacon is one of the top nonprofit online news organizations in the country. I worked with New York-based Next Street Agency as the Beacon's technical lead on a $288,000 project to move from Joomla to a custom-built content management system codenamed Lantern. I used HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Perl to create educational CD-ROMs and websites. I also wrote utilities in Visual Basic and Perl.

I designed, programmed, tested and maintained custom Windows software written in Visual Basic for Bank of America. I was responsible for the contact management, cash flow analysis, database editor and financial calculator modules of a mortgage application and pre-qualification system.

I created web pages and CGI scripts for OSEDA, the Missouri Census Data Center, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, University of Missouri Outreach and Extension and Kids Count in Missouri. In addition, I set HTML style guidelines, provided technical support, recommended and installed software, and researched and implemented new web technologies, such as RealAudio.

I wrote HTML and Perl code for commercial websites, including Addsheet Online, ComputerLand, the Columbia Downtown Association and the National Association of Animal Breeders.

I co-founded ArachNet, a web publishing, programming and consulting company, during my senior year in college. In addition to writing HTML and Perl code, I planned marketing strategy, identified and contacted potential clients and wrote contracts. Our clients included the College of Education and the Alumni Association of the University of Missouri.
