- Managed global supply base for multiple key categories including: contract manufactured assemblies, metal fabrication, bearings, PCBA/EMS, automated drives, hydraulic systems, fasteners and other c-components. - Negotiated contracts (price, delivery, and quality requirements) for over 70% of part count and 40% of total cost for Generation 2.2 pilot series turbines.- Orchestrated supply chain activities for the strategic technology transfer of Ogin’s nacelle assembly, transitioning from in-sourced production to a contract manufacturer in Shanghai. Travelled to China on a monthly basis for 6 months to transition bill of materials, communicate product specifications, and oversee supply base development from selection to first article inspection. - Partnered closely with mechanical and electrical engineering teams to identify system requirements, develop product specifications, identify and assess suppliers, and select best supply strategy. Prepared supply base for production ramp-up, with focus on supplier capacity, logistics optimization, and quality improvements.- Identified and qualified best cost country suppliers to reduce inventory and transportation costs. - Developed “Should-Cost” models to analyze component cost and assist in supplier negotiations.- Managed supplier selection process based on supplier proposals, quality assessments, total cost of ownership models, project timelines, and internal stakeholder input. Managed audits and first article inspections. - Spearheaded process improvement efforts in multiple areas, including design for manufacturability, Oracle ERP transactional processes, engineering change process, and spare parts stocking for turbine reliability.- First supply chain point of contact for urgent part requirements or non-conformances, both in factory and on turbine site. - Developed supply base across several categories from ground up for Generation 1 turbine, while ensuring scalability for long term production. - Chosen for a 9 month assignment in Denmark, in response to a large disconnect between US-based supply chain and Denmark-based engineering team. Was the key catalyst for aligning the teams and fostering positive collaboration, which led to a successful installation of the Generation 1 turbine in Rosamond, CA. - Led sourcing and supply chain for first commercial scale prototype in Winthrop, MA. Identified and selected suppliers, negotiated all aspects of contracts, and oversaw production under compressed schedule. The successful prototype was the key milestone to receive $92 Million in series C venture capital funding. - Managed all sourcing for European suppliers, while also responsible for suppliers in China and US.- Developed web-based, cross functional collaboration tool for supplier database management. After great success, increased the platforms functionality to utilize as dashboard reporting for C-Level Management, as well as quality records and logistics.- Led purchasing implementation of Oracle for general procurement, inventory, and manufacturing processes, focusing on design for a lean, make-to-order production strategy.- Oversaw one direct report who focused on MRO and administrative purchasing. Trained and mentored direct report and seasonal college interns.- Direct report to Chief Operations Officer and Vice President of Sourcing.

 Managed global supply base of approx. $10 M yearly spend, including Low Cost Region suppliers in China and India.  Identified, qualified, and monitored suppliers. In one cost savings project, a new electronic manufacturing supplier with superior supply chain and efficiencies, resulting in $60K savings on first two projects. Negotiated with suppliers on cost, delivery, and payment terms, consistently reducing lead times to meet production needs, while exceeding Purchase Price Variance (PPV) goals: $211K in 2010. Reduced working capital by managing supplier deliveries in a Just-In-Time, Lean inventory environment. Selected as member of Policy Deployment Team; expedited prototype process to improve transition time to production.  Selected to participate in Shingijutsu event, reserved for high potential employees. Participated in value engineering workshops.

 Planned and managed the procurement of all material for Flat Panel Display capital equipment (2000+ parts per system). Managed all aspects of materials, including quality, delivery, financial accuracy, inventory turns, and engineering change orders. Led project to decrease Excess and Obsolete (E&O) material by $50K in Flat Panel Display cell. Led procurement and production planning for two large scale Solar prototype projects for new high-potential customers. Chosen as Oracle implementation super user to lead all aspects of purchasing and inventory planning for Oracle implementation.  Participated and led several kaizen (continuous improvement) events. Led kaizen event for expensed material replenishment program, which successfully decreased costs and the frequency of “stock outs”.
