Originally hired as project manager for Wolfe Publishing, later Mosby-Yearbook Europe, my stealth role was to convert traditional publishing systems to a fully digital publishing workflow. During my tenure with TMIP, I architected the IT systems, designed and built the production workflow systems, trained staff in techniques and requirements, put the company on the Internet behind a firewall (in 1993), and put everyone on e-mail with remote access via dial-up. Results including improving production throughput by 35% and reducing error costs by 70%.

Created and managed digital production workflows for traditional publishing companies, producing some of the first fully-digitally produced four-colour books for a variety of clients.

Specified, purchased and maintained all capital and consumable survey goods used by the department's staff, including shipping and receiving, repairs, acquisition and disposal of equipment, and training resources for department personnel.

First permanent job out of High School, I learned the rudiments of land surveying including cadastral & geodetic survey requirements, working with experienced crew chiefs and survey engineers in the field for various projects. Introduction to electronic distance measuring devices, layouts, mortgage certificate measurements, quantity surveying, and operating levels & theodolites. Remote work included many rural environments and much travel.
