About Brett Messman, Phd
Over the last seven years I have dedicated my professional efforts towards researching trajectories of biobehavioral and affective development across the lifespan in diverse populations and identifying, and understanding risk factors, biomarkers, and behavioral indicators of mental and physical illnesses to help inform intervention responses. In addition, I have provided project coordination, data collection, data management, analytic, and writing support to multiple National Institute of Health grant-funded research studies. I have also prepared and taught 4 undergraduate courses on psychological experimental methods and quantitative statistics and provided mentorship to over 30 undergraduate students seeking advanced graduate degrees in mental or medical health professions. As a result of these experiences, my strengths are tailored towards research dissemination, grant writing, quantitative data analytics, project management, and mentorship. Day-to-day, I am driven by a passion for the research I do, a desire to help people, strong collaborators, and meaningful collaborations.
