At Cowell Coffee Shop some of my responsibilities involved prepping foods in the kitchen. I also gained knowledge on the preparation of different dishes and understanding food safety, and other practices that are important in a kitchen. I also got the opportunity to enhance teamwork and communication skills by collaborating with other interns/workers.

This internship at the Rachel Carson garden involved mostly tending to the maintenance of the garden by weeding, helping with the existing compost piles by watering or turning, helping build the greenhouse, tool shed organizing, clearing the paths and flattening them, or just simply throwing out any plastic waste from the trash bins.

As an intern I was tasked with community outreach efforts to engage local residents, schools, and organizations in the garden's activities. This included organizing workshops, coordinating volunteer opportunities, maintaining relationships with local partners, and promoting the garden's initiatives through various communication channels.
