I speak with women from across the fields to contribute pieces about their studies or line of work to highlight the real life struggles and sacrifices it takes to follow your dreams. I work alongside the executive members of the nonprofit to organize monthly events, and help prepare the team for our international summit in the Philippines, March 2019.

Taught English as a second language to local students age 3-7 years old. Working alongside a local Learning Partner we collaborated on lesson plans, parent care, and working together with our other foreign counterparts in group and team projects. Fully submersed in the local culture, I learned very basic Mandarin to travel locally, pay bills, and explore the cultural differences.

Provided academic, financial aid, and program information to prospective online Master's students. Once students were enrolled in a program I supported them with any academic or personal issues that may have hindered their academic success, as well as encourage their progress. The majority of the work was done independently holding myself accountable to make sure my students' deadlines were met. I also participated in multiple personality, mindfulness, and work management seminars required for this position.

Assisted passengers with ticketing, baggage, and travel inquiries. When not at the check in counter I safely controlled, assisted, and boarded incoming and outbound flights. Working in a time sensitive, high security field taught me to be not only perceptive but vigilant in the position I held.

Taught English, gym, music, art, cooking, and mommy and me classes to local students age 9 months to 7 year old. Some classes were taught alongside a local teaching partner where we collaborated on lessons and meeting with parents about student progress. I learned enough Korean to hold basic conversations at work and in my daily life outside of the learning center. As my first full-time position abroad I learned how to work with diverse work styles, expectations, along with cultural differences.

Interned for then Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan's Press Secretary to prepare Duncan for national and regional meetings. After researching and staying up to date with educational policies I worked with the Press Team to ensure comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the regional policies and constituents' feelings towards these policies. I also helped prepare Duncan for his interview on the Daily Show with John Stewart in February of 2012.

Zanzibar, Tanzania

Worked side by side with a local college student teaching English, basic health, and HIV/AIDS curriculum. Living with a home stay family, I was able to learn basic Swahili and local ways of life when I wasn't in the classroom teaching.
