About Brenna Sowder

As a writer, my creative endeavors are middle grade fiction, personal essay and memoir. My favorite subjects revolve around the natural world, and the challenges, magic and wonder that we experience as part of that interconnected web. I also write about the complexities of parenting, and the vulnerability, hilarity and terror of being a flawed (but aspiring) human.As a freelance communications professional, I have more than 15 years of experience in the nonprofit world, including outreach, strategic planning, PR/marketing and fundraising support (grants and donor outreach). My professional journey has been enriched by marine conservation research, environmental education, freelance journalism, classroom teaching and a brief stint aboard a lobster fishing boat.
