I am a software engineer with a passion for working with and helping to develop small local businesses; as well as using my skills to aid marginalized and/or underserved populations. I am also a life-long learner and advocate for education accessibility.Before transitioning into the tech industry, I spent 10+ years in construction. I started out at the bottom as a lowly "gopher" and ended up as one of the youngest construction managers working for one of the largest residential home builders in the United States. I personally oversaw tens of millions of dollars of homes and dozens of workers. During those years I learned how to work with and lead a team, and I honed my attention to detail and used it to deliver the best possible end product to clients. However, in order to spare my body in the long run, I ultimately decided that I wanted to move away from a career that was so physically demanding in favor of the mental thrills of software engineering and web development.My mission is to use my skills in coding, leadership, and teamwork to build a more open-minded and accepting world for future generations; and to counteract the negative forces of the world through positivity, respect, assertiveness and resilience.
