Through the University of Vermont (UVM) Wellness Environment (WE) my team established a program to incentivize healthy habits in college students using neuroscience-inspired behavior change. I worked on the program starting in its inaugural year (120 students), with a goal of researching the effects both education and incentivization have on the health and well-being of college-aged students. Onsite programs included daily fitness, nutrition, and mindfulness for students in accordance with the curriculum of an undergraduate neuroscience course offered by the UVM Larner College of Medicine. External work included collaborating with top health professionals to create partnerships and grants in research and health promotion. Additionally, as the program grew to over 800 students, we partnered with an app development team to create the UVM WE App – an iOS app built to support individual health promotion and at-large research purposes.Flagship success included planning, organizing and coordinating the UVM WE 4.20 5K for Wellness – a cost-free and substance-free 5K fun run/walk that serves to provide a health promotion event to UVM and VT community members. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd annual races engaged a combined 2,500 individuals in alternative wellness programming. Digital experience included the creation and management of the content of the official UVM WE website, utilizing Drupal, an open-source platform (www.uvm.edu/we).

Additionally, promoted the brand through personal social media channels to increase class attendance and reach sold-out class goals. In class, I utilized knowledge and experience with bio-mechanics and heart rate zones in order to prepare and guide safe and functional workouts paired with motivating music and instruction.

Directed flexibility and strength exercises for patients with COPD ages 60+ and participated in COPD-education lessons for patients and families of the program's diagnosed participants. Weekly education and exercise sessions included monitoring oxygen saturation, HR, and oxygen tank levels of patients during cardiovascular exercise. Designed a mental health and wellness component to add to the educational section of Pulmonary Rehab to progress towards a more holistic approach to achieving wellness.

South Burlington, Vermont

Supervised Cancer patients and survivors ages 35-65 during cardiovascular exercise, including monitoring HR and collecting patients' RPE. Trained and progressed patients in strength and flexibility exercises in accordance with both program layout and individual goals and progression. Educated individuals on the benefits of daily activity towards their health goals.
