FEMA Disaster Financial Support Capability (DFSC) ProjectDisaster Financial Support Capability (DFSC) application modernization initiative ensured that the business functions of the existing client-server application were seamlessly transitioned into a web-based application and built upon the existing database structure, without loss of service or data. DFSC provides processing of disaster financial management and processes the financial services through FEMA’s Integrated Financial Management Information system (IFMIS). The DFSC application has capabilities to process and support the following: Initial Allocations, Amendment Allocation, Disaster Housing Obligations, Manual IA Payments and Reports.• Involved in designing and implementation of MVC design pattern for the presentation of data on the View layer in using Struts framework and Hibernate in the back end.• Developed the application using Apache Struts Framework: developed action classes, Form beans and Java Server Pages (JSP). Form classes of Struts Framework to write the routing logic and to call different services.• Developed the view components using JSP, HTML/HTML5, Struts Logic tags and Struts tag libraries AJAX.
